DRY SKIN
Dry skin, also known as xerosis, is a common skin condition characterized by a lack of moisture in the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis. It can affect people of all ages and can vary in severity from mild discomfort to severe itching and cracking.
Dry skin can be caused by environmental factors like low humidity and cold weather, to sun exposure and wind that can strip the skin of its natural oils. It can also be caused by genetics; some people naturally have drier skin. Lifestyle factors can also play a part, such as harsh soaps, hot showers and certain skin care products like ones that contain fragrance.
Dry skin can feel tight, rough to the touch and can sometimes lead to itching, especially in colder months. Flaking can occur and in extreme cases, the skin can crack or lead to fissures, which can be painful and leave you prone to infection.
If your skin is dry, consider only cleansing in the evening. In the morning, you can use NeoGenesis Moisturizing Mist on a cotton round to lightly refresh your skin. While your skin is still damp, apply a hydrating serum such as NeoGenesis Skin Serum or Booster. Don’t let your serum dry on your skin however, immediately lock in the hydration with the NeoGenesis Intensive Moisturizer.
In the evening, be sure to use a gentle cleanser such as NeoGenesis Cleanser to ensure that the products you apply will penetrate and quench your skin’s thirst!
