Home Care Protocol
MORNING
STEP 1: Use Cleanser.
STEP 2 (optional): Spritz Moisturizing Mist.
STEP 3: Apply Recovery, Booster or Skin Serum.
STEP 4 (optional): Apply Eye Serum around the eyes and over the lips.
STEP 5: Apply Vibrant C Serum.
STEP 6: Apply Barrier Renewal Cream, Light Moisturizer or Intensive Moisturizer.
STEP 7: Finish with mineral sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and be sure to reapply every two hours if outdoors and at minimum mid-day if indoors.
EVENING
STEP 1 (optional): Remove any eye and lip makeup with Erase the Day on a cotton round.
STEP 2: Use Cleanser once in the evening, or twice if wearing makeup.
STEP 3: (optional): One to three times per week, apply a thin layer of Enzyme Crème Mask (avoid eye area). Leave on the skin for 5-8 minutes, then remove with a warm wet face towel.
STEP 4: (optional): Spritz Moisturizing Mist across the face and neck.
STEP 5: Apply Recovery on the face and neck to help calm pigmentation production.
STEP 6 (optional): Apply Eye Serum around the eyes and over the lips.
STEP 7: One to three times per week (instead of using Enzyme Crème Mask or on the same evenings), apply Mandelic Acid 8% to help break up hyperpigmentation and/or Skin Restore Serum to help increase cellular turnover and results.
STEP 8: Finish with Barrier Renewal Cream, Light Moisturizer or Intensive Moisturizer.
Consider first introducing the serums by rotating their use in the evening, for example: Monday – Recovery, Tuesday – Mandelic Acid 8%, Wednesday – Skin Restore Serum, Thursday – Recovery, Friday – Mandelic Acid 8%, Saturday – Skin Restore Serum, Sunday – Recovery.
If you would like, you can then consider layering the serums up to five nights per week, for example: Monday to Friday – Recovery, Mandelic 8%, Skin Restore Serum in that order (apply moisturizer for additional support). Saturday to Sunday – Recovery, Intensive Moisturizer in that order.

FAQs
If I want a very simple skin care routine, what should I prioritize?
You can see excellent results with just a few NeoGenesis products! First and most importantly, prioritize applying and reapplying sunscreen, otherwise your hyperpigmentation will very likely darken.
Second, prioritize the use of NeoGenesis Recovery, Booster or Skin Serum twice daily as this will help to calm the amount of pigment being produced by your skin to promote an even skin tone. All three of these serums will help significantly, but the lower concentration of our technology will just take longer to see results. To give you an idea, Recovery has shown to contribute to an even complexion in 3 months, whereas Skin Serum has been shown to do the same in about 5 months.
Third, alongside a gentle cleanser and moisturizer, prioritize breaking up your hyperpigmentation with enzymes in the Enzyme Crème Mask or with acids like Mandelic Acid 8%.
What is a tyrosinase inhibitor and why is it important in the treatment of hyperpigmentation?
A tyrosinase inhibitor is an ingredient that slows down melanin production by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase, which is essential for pigment formation in the skin. This makes it effective for treating hyperpigmentation conditions like melasma, sunspots, and post-acne marks by reducing dark spots and evening out skin tone. Common tyrosinase inhibitors include ingredients like vitamin C (in the NeoGenesis Vibrant C Serum), kojic acid, azelaic acid, and arbutin. Note that the S²RM® technology, specifically the molecules released by the adipose mesenchymal stem cells, also act as tyrosinase inhibitors, so you can use Recovery, Booster or Skin Serum to help combat hyperpigmentation as well.
Are retinoids important in treating hyperpigmentation?
Yes, retinoids are effective for treating hyperpigmentation because they speed up cell turnover, helping to fade dark spots more quickly. They also reduce melanin production and improve the penetration of other brightening ingredients. Common forms like retinol and retinaldehyde are often recommended for improving the appearance of discoloration, however these types of retinoids must be converted into the active form of vitamin A to be used by the skin, whereas our Skin Restore Serum contains retinoate that the skin is able to use immediately.
Is mandelic acid the best exfoliating acid for targeting hyperpigmentation?
Mandelic acid is a gentle exfoliant that helps treat hyperpigmentation by promoting cell turnover and reducing melanin production. Because it has a larger molecular size, it penetrates the skin more slowly and tends to sit on the surface longer than other acids, making it less irritating and more effective—especially for sensitive and darker skin tones. This slower absorption also reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties make it helpful for fading acne-related dark spots as well.
